Wu Lyf stopped traffic in Manchester this weekend. It was moment even the best musical Svengali couldn’t buy, but, for one night only, a major route through the city centre was closed off to provide Manchester’s next great hope with the perfect playground. Great Bridgewater Street, at the back of Manchester Central – rechristened The Tunnel for the night by Manchester International Festival – welcomes over 1,500 youngsters and scenesters to shelter from the rain under its great steel arches.
